The Church of St. Nicholas of Bari, located in the hamlet of the town of Rovella Zumpano (CS) is a property of great historical interest artistico.Zumpano "among the noblest Baglive of Cosenza, writes P. John Flower Cropani, is a charming village of 1,700 inhabitants, nine kilometers from Cosenza.Qui Francis (later P. Francis, Augustine, who died in honor of holiness) saw the light of the July 8 1445. "Clear grounds underpin opinion that the town-village of Zumpano, called Rovella, at least around the end of 1400 or beginning of 1500 has laid the foundations for a first cluster of families, moved by pity for their fellow countryman and aggregates in the Holy name and devotion the Holy Virgin, under the title of the Addolorata. We must therefore assume that the parish church, now named after S. Nicola di Bari, dating from the late fifteenth century or early sixteenth and no later than 1530, the year of his death Francesco.Qui Francis (later P. Francis, Augustine, who died in honor of holiness) saw the light to July 8 of 1445. The architectural style reflects what the Church is the artistic time, reproducing the same styles that are found regularly in other churches of the Diocese Cosentina. The building has a single nave, with ornamental stucco running along the walls. Observed inside the altar stone and stucco with a representation of Our Lady of Mount Caramel and two paintings placed in the sanctuary, representing respectively S. Francesco di Paola and S. Paul the Hermit. Along the walls of the nave are housed three small paintings depicting St. James, the Guardian Angel St. Peter beside the front door you look straight from a holy water basin to lions, the work is dated 1547.In sacristy also keep a confessional in carved wood, probably by local workers, dating back to 'last two decades of the Fifteenth Century. On the right side of the church is made after other rooms (the chapel and sacristy). The conditions, aesthetic deficit, caused by the lack of maintenance over time, caused the collapse of the roof and damage the residual structures of the plant in recent years, a beneficial remedial action has restored the roof of the Church and destroyed structures ensuring the shell destroyed the Church's structures and ensuring the permanence of the sacred property, which will hopefully be able to return to 'original use and enjoyment of the faithful.
