It is officially the building with more clay bricks in the world. Made of about 1.120.000 solid bricks enclosing a volume of 97.000 cubic meters.

The "Catedral Metropolitana de Medellín", officialy named "Catedral Basílica Metropolitana de la Inmaculada Concepción de María", it's a catholic church temple dedicated to the Virgin Mary (Immaculate Conception).
Locaed on downtown Medellín (Colombia), on the Villanueva neighborhood, on the north side of the "Parque de Bolívar" park.

It is the main temple of the city's Archdioceses and it is home to the Archbishop.
In 1948, the Pope Pío XII gave it the title of Minor Basilica.

The building was designed by the french architect Charles Émile Carré (1863-1909), with a neo-roman style

It was declared National Monument on march 12th, 1982.
