645-foot, 44-story postmodern office building completed in 1987. Designed by Cesar Pelli & Associates, 225 Liberty Street (formerly Two World Financial Center) is the second tallest of the four buildings in the Brookfield Place (formerly World Financial Center) complex. It has a 4-story lower base, with a glassy, outward-curving entry intersecting the straight lines of the walls. This base also extends to a 10-story octagonal wing with a sloping copper roof on the south side, and the Winter Gardens on the north. The lower ten floors are angled to follow West Street on the eastern facade, and the tower matches this line, thereby sitting at an angle to the tower of 200 Vesey Street directly to the north. A 2nd-story skybridge links the octagonal wing with 200 Liberty Street's octagonal wing, crossing over Liberty Street.

There are cascading setbacks at varying floor levels of each facade. The tower is clad in tan-grey granite and square punched windows of blue-tinted glass. As the building rises and steps back, the windows grow larger at each level, increasing the ratio of glass to granite. It is crowned by a copper round-domed roof.

The building is home to Time Inc. and BNY Mellon. It connects to the rest of the Brookfield Place complex through a courtyard leading to the Winter Garden.
