Chhapra is a city and headquarters of Saran district in the state of Bihar, India. Chhapra is also known as Chapra. Chapra is situated near the junction of the Ghaghara River and The Ganges River. Chapra was the headquarter of district called Saran. Later, the district was divided into three separate districts: Chapra, Siwan, and Gopalganj.
Language of the people of this District is BHOJPURI.
Chapra grew in importance as a river mart in the 18th century when the Dutch, French, Portuguese, and English established saltpeter refineries there. It was constituted a municipality in 1864. The town has major rail and road connections with the rest of India.

  • realy chapra consist many old things and values. when ever we went to village i felt very happy to see the things, values, people's expectation, respect etc. but i always upset to see the different tola wiht different people or caste, now caste system had gone,now it is past thing if we want to see the chapre as well as Bihare and more important to india we should leave this nonsence practice which has no meaning in real term. today our people get absused or misbaved by other people because in Bihar no unity every one try to maximise their best and forget others who really need, they need respect, work, opportunity etc. so my dear freinds i hope u are new generation people don't repeat past think for better bihar where everyone have food , work, diginity, properity and finally we should try to bring "inclusive growth in Bihar.
