  • The tower was built in haste and in imitation of the Space Needle, which was completed in Seattle about a year before construction began in Calgary. As a consequence of the lack of forethought in design and the weather's effect on poured concrete, it looks like a shabby imitation of the Space Needle or the CN Tower, which was completed the year after the Calgary Tower. The Tower is becoming increasingly veiled by the glass office towers going up around it, which will make its inevitable implosion more challenging logistically but no less satisfying to those who regard it as a hopeless eyesore.
  • I think the Calgary Tower is a fine part of the Calgary skyline. I hope to visit some day.
  • I heard there was glass floor on the top.
  • Calgary tower is 191 meters[626 feet] long.
  • It's opening took place in June 30, 1968.
