Ivan Adrianovich Feshchenko-Chopivsky (1884-1952) - an outstanding metalworker and public figure in Ukraine. Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and numerous scientific and technical societies of England, Germany, USA. The author of over 140 scientific works, including 23 monographs published in German, English, Polish, Ukrainian and Russian on problems of diffusion, chemical-thermal and thermal treatment. Ivan Feshchenko-Chopivsky was born on January 20, 1884 in Chudnov, former Volyn region. Ivan Feshchenko-Chopivsky died on September 2, 1952 in the village of Abez, Republic of Komi (where he was sentenced to 10 years in prison, where he was buried. Only in 1996, the public delegation of the Lviv region managed to establish and consecrate a cross on his grave.
