This street appeared in 1869-1870, during the construction of the railway station.

By the early 20th century was named Oleksandrivska, as here was the Oleksandrivska ('Alexander') Chapel.
Since 1922 was renamed to Chervonoarmiitsia ('Red Army Soldier').
During the German occupation the historical street name was returned.
From 1936 until 2015 - Chervonoarmiiska ('Red Army').
20.11.2015-17.05.2016 - Konarieva.
Now - Yevhena Kotliara.
