Texas SH 6 / Texas SH 283

Texas State Highway 6 starts at the Oklahoma border near the Texas panhandle north of Quanah. It runs southward crossing US 70 and US 82/SH 114. It crosses US 380 then goes through Stamford and joins US 180 until Albany. It crosses Interstate 20 at Cisco, then turns southeast and goes around Waco. It passes through Bryan and College Station, then joins US 290 until the outskirts of Houston. It runs on the west side of Houston, through Alvin and ends at Interstate 45 north of the Galveston Causeway.

Texas State Highway 283 is about 11.8 miles long. It starts from US Highway 380 near Old Glory, then southeast to Stamford. After Sagerton, it runs concurrent with SH 6 to US 277 in Stamford.
