Normally I would agree, but if they are part of the [url=http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=4.477856&lon=22.148438&z=4&m=b&tag=33618:20hle8vm]"Africa Megaflyover"[/url:20hle8vm] imagery then I think we ought to keep them. How else would people find these image locations? |

| I've clarified the category description and tweaked the name form. They're not orthodox objects but Wikimapia does allow unorthodox tagging to a certain degree. |

It's interesting that the WP article says "[url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MegaFlyover:j56xmqe3]Five hundred of these images have been added to Google Earth's database.[/url:j56xmqe3]", yet WM only has 41 of them tagged and identified as such. Where are the rest? |

Yeah, duuh - why didn't I think of that <!-- s:?: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_question.gif" alt=":?:" title="Question" /><!-- s:?: -->
So I added a few, and it quickly became clear that at least for those image areas, that there has been a "map shift" in the intervening decade, and Google has not realigned these hi-resolution images with the (new?) background.
Too bad, but it's still useful in locating the images.
Anybody looking for a mini-project? ... to add the rest? |
