| Well, I have a time-proven presets to prepare photos for uploading - I resize them to 3 Mpixels (2048x1536), do some sharpening and brightness adjustment (if needed), then I save file with sub-maximum (e.g. 8/10, or 10/12, depending on version) quality in Photoshop. It lasts for years. If I change JPEG quality settings to a lower value or will resize photos to a smaller size - this will affect image quality, what is not acceptable for me. So I will stop uploading photos until this problem goes away <!-- s:| --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_neutral.gif" alt=":|" title="Neutral" /><!-- s:| --> |

You can read previous pages - now (after the last Wikimapia's maintenance) you can upload photos only smaller 2 MB. |

The latest photo upload bug (no photo appears after upload) had been reported to admin, they will fix it soon.
The other photo upload problem if related to big size, that had to be resolved by the user themselves by reducing the size. |

| I can not upload photos. I don't know why, whenever I upload photos, in 99% cases it shows "Blank photo upload". But the same photo can be uploaded in facebook, whatsapp and other internet apps. I could not find out the actual reason. Please help me. |

You can compress/resize photos to 2 Mb or less, and then upload them.

Same problem with photos here ...this is the second time, as far as i remember. Last was about 1-2 years ago.

Since some days, uploading of photos is not possible any longer: instead of showing the photo, just an animated diagram shows that something happend. But even after days, the photo is not available. This problem has nothing to do with the 2MB-rule, as all of those I tried to upload the last days are far below.
Can someone explain the problem and fix it??? Thanks!! |

You do realize that this is not practical, yes? Pictures out of the camera [b:2okzl4ky]rarely[/b:2okzl4ky] have file sizes that small anymore due to increased resolution/megapixel counts. People are not going to go through the hassle of downsizing their images simply because the feature is broken..... |

Are they really broken? It is not difficult to do below 2 mpx and leave quite good quality.
For example, here is a sufficiently clear picture that has less than 1 mpx:
