I continue to work with old wikimapia. Very often I am also getting the error message as[b:hci5abgs] "No file uploaded"[/b:hci5abgs] in photo uploads. I self-checked & ensured that I have not violated any wikimapia norms with reference to small/ blurry photos / same angle or duplicate photos (I never, never use other's photo or irrelevant photos in any situation. I use my photos to create indisputable polygons).
I use my own photos (of over 50,000 more in my stock yet to be processed) taken by me on my visits /travels .
While uploading the photo, when it fails, I tried in [b:hci5abgs]other browsers[/b:hci5abgs]; tried in [b:hci5abgs]New wikimapia[/b:hci5abgs]; [b:hci5abgs]refreshed [/b:hci5abgs]the page; [b:hci5abgs]restarted [/b:hci5abgs]my computer; accessed [b:hci5abgs]from my harddisk [/b:hci5abgs](without a drag & drop) ----- the result is the same -[b:hci5abgs] "No filed is uploaded". [/b:hci5abgs]
[b:hci5abgs]This status remains for about 1 to 5 days. Then the upload works[/b:hci5abgs].
Then I presumed that the photo uploads is [b:hci5abgs]temporarily stopped for maintenance or updating[/b:hci5abgs]!
Some one in the technical side could confirm this.
The cause for the unusual phenomena could even be explained in a popped up dialog box instead of a simple message as "No File Uploaded".
This will save the user's time on several uploads & retry's! ... on several modes/browsers!!
Or can any of the "Users" please, to suggest my presumption is right or otherwise ?
I am also unable to make out the postings by Lieutenant Raven » 16 days ago that
[i:hci5abgs] "The discussion is now continuing mostly in Russian branch of the forum. We determined the source of the trouble. It is not connected with the location (as I previously thought). It's about the creation time of the object. This bug affects objects created after the first week of November. These objects have some error in database description that makes them unable to be connected with photo data. Now we are also awaiting for the reaction of admins. It really became very slow in the past time.
So there is no trouble adding photos to objects crated before November 2014. Only newer objects suffer from this bug. I'll write here when it's fixed (or more precisely if it's fixed)."[/i:hci5abgs]
It does happen (shows the error) while adding photos to older objects too !
Every time whenever there is some technical problem, will the admn notify this in the dialog box as " .... it is under maintenance / bug fixing ......." - so that the "user" can postpone or avoid trying again & again , the photo uploads. |

Pretty sure [b:2i3b8ety]Admin[/b:2i3b8ety] is unaware of the fact that this is occurring again. Bug reports are not being reviewed - haven't been for a long time. Last occurrence a month ago I sent a message to [i:2i3b8ety]w8r[/i:2i3b8ety] and got a curt reply he would look into it. Heard nothing more back. But uploads started working again about two weeks later.
When this error started occurring again this time I sent another message to [i:2i3b8ety]w8r[/i:2i3b8ety], but he hasn't been on line for days now. [i:2i3b8ety]w8r[/i:2i3b8ety] closed the previous bug reports on the prior two bug reports so I'm sure he knows what is happening and how to fix this. But, nobody is listening.
Anyone who is able to monitor the admin maintenance forums might like to drop by and see if the Admin team is aware of this last incidence of [u:2i3b8ety]no file uploaded for new places[/u:2i3b8ety]. Or, better yet, ask what is being done to fix it. |

| Same issue as mentioned in the initial description. I am unable to successfully upload any photo since yesterday. Uploading is shown as complete yet the posted photo red box comes out with 'Abort' sign. Tried on new & old WM. Objects I'm trying to add photos for are located in Jordan. Anybody else experiencing this problem? |

Just uploaded 6 photos here [url:3ecd2g5e]http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=36.116228&lon=128.005174&z=18&m=b&show=/34148737/Jikjisa-Manseru[/url:3ecd2g5e] that appeared to upload normally, but the thumbnails just contain the placeholder image. Leaving the edit window and returning to the main place window the 6 photo's thumbnail placeholders appear but no photos. Clicking on the thumbnails opens the photo viewing window but, again, only photo placeholders appear for each of the 6 photos uploaded, no photos display.

I don't think this is quite the same issue. The link above refers to issues with the error message "No file uploaded" while attempts to upload the photos fails. That is not what is happening here - no error messages, and the photos appear to upload as usual.
What happened to me is that all 6 photos uploaded normally, no error messages, but photos do not display. I have encountered, and reported, the "No file uploaded" error on several occasions so I recognize that problem and see this as a different issue.
Under my profile -> Stats -> Photos added to places and streets: the added photos do not show up - and the "Experience points" [i:2sp4ufxx]did not increment[/i:2sp4ufxx] from the addition of these 6 photos. But go to the place [url:2sp4ufxx]http://wikimapia.org/#lang=en&lat=36.116468&lon=128.005306&z=19&m=b&permpoly=34148723&show=/34148737/Jikjisa-Manseru[/url:2sp4ufxx] and you can see the placeholders for the photos. Yep ... and if you try to delete the 'unaccepted' file and replace it you'll get :

That isn't the problem. I crop and/or reduce my pics so that there isn't much difference
(if any) between the shown picture and the [color=#0000FF:3hi6on5a]Full-size file[/color:3hi6on5a].
Actually, I've had more problems with loading files that were [u:3hi6on5a]too small[/u:3hi6on5a]. |

This could be part of the problem.
If you pull up the raw file you'll get a lot of machine language.
But one of the things that stands out is this :

Just need to correct photos in any simple redactor, and upload them again. |
