Sava Lake, usually also referred to as Ada, was created from the right arm of the Sava with building of two dams near the northern and southern tip of the island in 1967. The lake is 4.2 kilometers long, has an average width of 200 meters and is 4 to 6 meters deep. It covers and area of 0.8 square kilometers and being on the altitude of 78 meters above sea level, it is one of the lower sections of Belgrade. 7 kilometers of its shores are turned into a gravel beach on both sides (island side is called the Ada side while the opposite one is Makiš side). The water regularly reaches 24 Celsius during summer.
