Apart from 9 days Navrathri festival, a host of other festivals like Sasthapreethi, aarattu, ashtami rohini, nirai/puthari etc. are also celebrated though Navarathri tops the celebrations. Villagers take pride among themselves to celebrate the event with gusto. Must see the pomp and grandeur at least once in your lifetime.

This village is very cultural. Only brahmin community are staying in this village. The villagers are migrated from Ambil Village, Tanjavoor before around 450 years. Their cultural activities are similar as per Sreerangam tredition as they are still move as per Sreerangam Panchangam. Sreedevi Bhoodevi Sameta Sri Aadikesava Perumal and Sri Poorna Pushkala Sameta Sree Ayyappan (Nerungaita Kottai, Kottappuram, Calicut) are the main Temples and the festivels occuring in these temples through our the year are very much treditional and cultural. Navarathri is very famous and it is just like the famous Trichoor Pooram festivel except fire works. Nine days worships make the whole villages and people nearby village, happy and prosperous throughout the year. River Nila is near by this village. South side of village one foot ball ground is very nice. Village Pond and also several ponds are near by this village. Totally a person can enjoy with this village. Navarathri this year begins on 13-10-2007.
