Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, North Dakota has enjoyed a rich history of racing. The very first race held at the track, then known as the Red River Speedway, was in conjunction with the Red River Valley Fair in August of 1967. In 1972, the weekly racing shows began. From the 1980's to 2009, the races were ran by the Red River Valley Fair Board under the WISSOTA sanction. In the spring of 2010, the track was reconfigured from the original 1/2 mile to a smaller 3/8 mile in length. Also that year, the track, now under the operation of the Valley Racing Group, switched from Friday nights to Wednesday nights. After a year of running on Saturday nights as an unsanctioned track, the Red River Valley Speedway ran it’s final race on August 25th, 2012. In 2013, the Red River Valley Speedway was used for the Hard Charge and Run or Dye events, along with concerts at the fair. It was re-opened again in 2016, operated by JS Bitker LLC, this time under the IMCA banner. Racing once again has returned to Friday nights.
