This is a parclo-B (partial cloverleaf) interchange between Interstate 81 and U.S. Routes 17/50/522 (Millwood Pike) on the border of Winchester, Virginia. The eastern loop ramp is also a folded diamond, connecting to both east and west Millwood Pike. U.S. Route 522 joins Routes 17 and 50 at this eastern ramp terminal turning from Front Royal Pike, at a four-way, signalized intersection. Route 522 continues northwest on Millwood Pike, which becomes Millwood Avenue after crossing the interstate and entering the city limit of Winchester.

The interchange was first constructed as a three quadrant cloverleaf in 1964. In 2007, the northwest loop ramp was removed and replaced with a left turn lane on Millwood Pike, in order to eliminate weaving from southbound I-81. At the same time, the northbound entrance ramp was extended, with a separate bridge over Abrams Creek and Ralph Shockey Drive.
