A park popular with local residents for morning and evening walks. Actually it is not all that small, it can take in a whole football field and still leave some place around. Till six decades ago, the site was a large water body - in fact no more than a mosquito infected smelly pond of stagnant water - till local residents led by Nageswara Rao Panthulu, the founder of Amrutanjan who lived in a house facing the park, had it developed as a park. The city gratefully named the park after him.
The park is one of the few green places in Chennai. Its flower garden is well maintained in winter. Films are shot here. Good landmark and a great place to live near, except that you can not get a view of the park - its tree cover around the walls is quite dense.
