  • The info for this camp is all wrong. Camp Giant was home to Aco 1-506th, and it was not closed in 1992. I was there in Dec 2002 to Jan 2004.
  • I was there in 1993 living on Camp Giant and there was only a five man detachment from Camp Howze from the 552nd Signal Company! Commander Rick Yi was the commander at the time and there was only five american soldier living on Camp Giant, the rest were ROK soldiers in the near by areas. I spent a many of nights in that region listening to live fire on the DMZ just a few miles away. I also use to go to Pappyyongsan Mountain and to Camp Graves near the House of North and South Dialogue. the 1/506 was still at Camp Greaves then.
  • I was stationed at Camp Giant in '92 with B Co. 2nd Engineer Battalion (Bravo Beast) before we moved to Camp Nimbel.

  • Served on Camp Giant with B Co, 2nd Engineers from Jan 87 to Mar 88. They opened the new barracks the month I arrived. 2 Buildings between the HQ at the time in the quonset huts and the club on top of hill.
  • GPorter, You're a bit off, I was there in 85-86 and i was living in the barracks on top of the hill. We moved up in the spring of 86. In the picture here you see the curved asphalt to the NE of the double Quonset huts that was the head shed, the three buildings directly north an slightly left that follow the wood line were all open that spring. The funny thing is at the bottom of the hill the picture shows the Quonset hut B- Second Platoon 2nd and 3rd squads occupied, is still there. Looks like all of the huts the px and shops were in are still there too. Wonder what is there now.
