  • In 2007, this was WESTERN SYDNEY PARKLAND for the PEOPLE!!! In 2008, this is going to be PRIVATE HOUSING FOR OVER 1,500 people in about 700 houses that are being proposed by Landcom and Department of Planning. People do not worry that your State Government lies to you. Be happy knowing that the State Government will make billions of dollars from this development. You don't need to breathe fresh oxygen from this "Lungs of the West" Parkland. No! More cars and pollution is needed! More photochemical SMOG that's the go for you guys! Enjoy coughing your way to your local doctor, that is, if you can find one!! Ross
  • Back in the good old days, I used to tell the kids this is where they grew all our telephone poles. And even earlier than those days, I did my PMG Telecomm Training 1st year with a couple of guys from OTC. They used to put their trainees through their 1st year at the PMG college. Although there wasn't any smog around Doonside then, you could get some good old-fashioned healthy fog!. Noel
  • Back in the 60's my Dad worked for the OTC & we lived in one of the staff cottages-no. 8- great memories of all we kids playing tennis, yes we had a tennis court on the premises, cracker nights etc I often wonder where they all are now: the Simms, the Woods, the Mahoneys, the Bullens etc We moved to Baulkham Hills in the 70's but Dad still worked there & I still went to Doonside High which was a great school then. We played down at Eastern Creek, before it "dried up" and often went up to Bungaribee House; the horse stables were still there with all their equipment, as was the actual house where the OTC stored their "stuff"; it was said to be haunted and that there was an escape tunnel that led to the twin oleander trees in the paddock; of course we tried to find it!! I was truly upset to see all my childhood memories destroyed.
