  • THIS LAKE (KHADAN. IT IS NOT A NATURAL LAKE IT HAS BEEN CREATED BY HUMAN LABOUR. ALL THE STONE WERE DIGGED OFF TO USE IN CONSTURCTION OF MILITARY QUARTERS IN BOMBAY ENGINEER GROUP. NOW THIS LAKE IS FAMOUS FOR "A SUICIDE POINT".
  • This water is highly pollutted with full of wirms. During monsoon the entire rain water with all sort of dirts on the road flow in to this manmade lake. This water is used for daily usage in Lokpriya nagari & amba nagari
  • This lake is one of the most beautiful lakes of pune. It's the perfect oasis for numerous ducks and birds in an otherwise parched surrounding. The lake filled with enormous amount of clear blue water being constantly caressed by gently cool breeze is a sight to behold from most of the flats of surobhi complex in Dasrath Nagar.... One can also see Planes flying exactly over the lake as if trying to bathe themselves in clear serene water of this lake..... My nephey golu is very fond of this lake who lives one of d adjacent flats....

  • Hey, Please raise a voice to stop this khadan from closing , as this is the only source of water to nearby society for eg. Siddheswar Nagar Kumar Samruddhi Lokpriya Nagari Amba Nagari etc. Please closing is going on a full pace, as a mumbai based Lunkad Builder has bought this from Mittal & Tyagi Bros. for 6 Cr(approx). He is going to build a 13 - 11 storey apartments called as Lunkad's Paradise. Hopefully the filling will take nearly a 8--10 months. Help save water the main source of living.

  • This lake is one of the few sweet water lakes that maintains the ecological balance of the surrounding area. The municipal corporation should take stringent action against those who want to exploit this natural resources for personal gain. I urge to all the residents of vishrantwadi to start a movement against this and send a written compliant to the chief minister.

  • There are 2-3 angles to this issue. 1. Water resource & Environment. 2. Ownership of the Property 3. History - nobody care about this. This is secluded dark place in the evening.This is an ideal place to do everything what you can not do in light and in public. Who cares about the Safety from 20'-30' deep 'Water Resource' ? Owner, Neighbour, Residents or PMC ? From 2001 I have not seen any caretaker. This is Suicide point, Lover's paradise, Burial ground, Latrine & bath joint, place for anti-social activities etc. But my prime most concern is 'SAFETY FIRST'. Any impulsive/cynical can jump and end life - what an easy option we've given!!!
