Lake in the Lunggar Mountains, Xigaze Prefecture, Tibet. Chabyer Caka is one of some lakes where salt is produced (indicated by the word caka). Main compounds of the salt are Lithiumcarbonate and Borax. Chin.: Zhabuye Chaka. Tibetan: གྲབ་ཡེར་ཚྭཁ། Pinyin: Chabyer Caka.

  • A large bittern-salt lake in the Gangdisi Mountains in the interior of the Tibetan Plateau. The lake consists of two sub-basins, a southern and a northern one, joined by a narrow channel. The lake has total area of 243km2, a mean depth of 70cm, and a maximum depth of less than 2m.
