The original route of the Erie RR through downtown Passaic, NJ. The route was re-aligned to the parallel DL&W route in 1963 after the EL merger due to the numerous grade crossings and street running segment.
The eastern leg of the original Erie Railroad Main Line is owned by Norfolk Southern and known as the Carlton Hill Spur. Tracks have not seen service in almost 10 years.
The west end serves a few remaining industries.
