This now-closed airport has a very long history in aviation training. It is on property now part of St. Louis University.

Parks College became the first federally approved school of aeronautics & today still holds FAA Certificate #1.
It was popular with glider pilots into the 1960s.
The N-S runway was 3500x100', and the E-W was 2400x100'. The west end of the E-W runway is now covered with new buildings which are part of Parks College.
