This 7400m peak is the de facto (not agreed to by treaty) border tri-point between Siachen/Saltoro (currently controlled by India) to the south, the Gasherbrum/Baltoro area in Pakistan to the west, and the Shaksgam area in China to the northeast. It is, de facto, at or very near the northernmost point of land controlled by India.
