cemetery, blues, interesting place
In this practically abandoned bone orchard outside Holly Ridge, MS is the gravesite of legendary bluesman Charley Patton (1891-1934). Patton influenced a long list of fellow Delta blues players including, but by no means limited to, Robert Johnson, Son House, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters and many others.
Charley is planted in the back near the RR tracks. Drop by at midnight sometime and he just might pop up and play a tune for you....
