Southwark council has a population of 274,400 and includes Southwark, Camberwell, Peckham, Bermondsey, Rotherhithe and Dulwich. The north side of the council area has many waterfront developments such as the City Hall and Tate Modern, as well as the rebuilt Globe Theatre and Southwark Cathedral. The main part of the council area is residential including large and diverse communities at Camberwell and Peckham, while Dulwich Village to the south is a preserved village surrounded by residential areas.
