Dolna Topchia Managed Nature Reserve, declared a reserve by Order № 225 of 29.02.1960 by the Main Department of Forestry at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Mainly of forest management in order to maintain and improve pheasant country. Categorized in reserve maintained by Order № РД-377 of 15.10.1999 of the Minister of Environment and Water. The protected territory falls in property with № 106001 lands of village of Trankovo and № 082048 in the town of Elhovo with a total area of 467.47 hectares.

Aims of the declaration: Habitat of ring-necked pheasant. Dense forest.
