  • Open pit strip mine. Looking closely you can see a big drag line excavator taking the waste rock/overburden and dumping it in rigded rows on the south side of the pit. It is working from east to west. Smaller machines in the pit are removing the black coal. Other machines are leveling the ridges and reclaiming the land in the south-east side of the area.
