The village Nabi is on the trekking route to the Adi Kailash mountain. Established at least 200 years ago by Bhotias , also called Nabiyal.
The people in the village live in beautiful (double storeyed) houses constructed centuries back (some of them date back to the late eighteenth century). The main occupation of the villagers now is agriculture. However, in the earlier times, the people of this village were engaged in the trade betweem PITHORAGARH (INDIA) and TAKLAKOT (TIBET)
