The State Security Service (SSS), also known as the Department of State Services (DSS), is the primary domestic intelligence agency of Nigeria. It is primarily responsible for intelligence gathering within the country and for the protection of senior government officials, particularly the President and state governors. It is one of three successor organisations to the National Security Organization (NSO), dissolved in 1986. The SSS operates as a department within the presidency and is under the control of the National Security Adviser.

  • Hi it is really a same that Nigerian SSS cannot go after and find the sponsors of Boko Haram. I was just listening to the news the recent attack are really bad and should not continue. I think SSS should investigate This silent billionaire so called (Alhaji Umaru Abdul Mutallab). This man is a one of the richest northern man i believe he has a hand in Boko Haram. If not for the terrorism act of his son, nobody would have known much about this silent billionaire. He played a major role in introducing Islamic banking into Nigeria. His son, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, attempted to detonate plastic explosives aboard Northwest Airlines Flight 253 on December 25, 2009.He agreed in July 2009 to his son's request to return to the San'a Institute for the Arabic Language in Yemen to study Arabic from August to September 2009. In October, it was said that his son sent him a text message saying that he wanted to study sharia and Arabic in a seven-year course in Yemen. please investigate that man!

  • I think all you guys trying to join the SSS should get a godfather who wil get you the job.It is surprising that such an organisation as the SSS will be recruiting secretly.How do you expect to produce the best intelligence officers when you don't announce to the public that you are recruiting or even have a website for correspondence.Even the CIA and the British Secret Service have their website online where they recruit suitable candidates.I suggests that all of you should look for better things to do rather than joining the SSS until they change their method of recruitment.
  • Pls i want to implore this security service to be fair to nigerian especially with the way they arrest innocent muslims and cart them away without coz offence whatsoever only bcos of their dressin or outlook. Secondly if u have no concrete evidence against someone you arrest, why keep them in custody? Is that how the law deals with suspects, and they leave the families of such persons in a state of despair.   • It is very astonishing and barbaric the way some unprofessional police from Dutsen tanshi police station in Bauchi use to extort money from motorists at the games village junction near Murtala mohammed way Bauchi every night. Pls do something if u can to serve our country better
