Kollam (Quilon) Railway Station. Connects Kollam to Trivandrum, Nagercoil (South), Cochin, Calicut, Mangalore, Coimbatore (North) and Madurai (East).One of the oldest and important Railway stations in Kerala run by broad gauge and once by meter gauge lines. This station was once a loco shed for the old steam engines of Southern Railway. The meter guage line running to Madurai are also to be part of history as guage conversion is on.

Quilon has the oldest railway station in Kerala with the first railway line in the state laid in between Shencottah and Quilon in 1904.
