To be honest for the first encounter the guests should arrive by a cart, a coach or on foot instead.

No matter from which direction we approach the castle the characteristic form of the building can be seen from 20-25 km far and by getting closer we may experience the harmonic unity of the built and the natural billowy environment with the hills around the castle.

And when we are in front of the building the calmness of the classical geometric symmetry charms us in spite of its strictness prompting the serenity of timelessness and immortality.

At the beginning of the 1770s the Teleki family acquired land in Gyömrő. At the same time their castle was built. Unfortunately this palace burnt down in 1835.

Sámuel Teleki, the famous Africa researcher asked József Hild, the celebrated architect of the age (Cathedral of Budapest and Esztergom etc.), to design the new palace on the foundations of the burnt palace.

In the summers on the National Rákóczi Days open-air classical concerts take place in the magnificent environment. Show-jumping is an often returning spectacle of the event.
