Former plant of AG Simpson which was founded in Toronto in 1947. The Windsor plant of the auto parts maker was purchased in 1974 and expanded in 1991. In 2002 AG Simpson entered bankruptcy protection when the market for its chief product, metal bumpers, declined with the shift from chrome to plastic bumpers. At that time it was contemplated that the Windsor plant would be closed.

After a restructuring the name was changed to AGS Automotive Systems with 4 plants in Canada and 2 in the U.S.. In 2006 investments were made in new technology and robotics. The plant features five press lines, robotic weld cells and spot welding. Products include, bumper assemblies, oil pans, bracket assembilies, body pillars, box panels, rail assembilies, heat shields and headlight panels.
