Named after the founder of the town who owned the saw mill. This being a community founded on logging these old growth trees have been spared for a very long time. You would be very hard pressed to find any trees as big or old as these anywhere in the area. There has been debate on cutting some down for fear of them falling on the school during a wind storm. There is one covered picnic area and the community gets together to clear and maintain this park.
