This is Rainda. My best friend Amiya (Gopal Mandal) came from this village... to Shibpur BECollege after topping first batch of Higher Secondary Examination in 1960, from all the students in Murshidabad District. Amiya got his engineering degrees with flying colours and served the state government to retire as a distinguished Chief Engineer of the PWD. Amiya is happily married to Sagarika and blessed with a son, Anirban, also an engineer from Shibpur with post graduate degree from USA. I had the opportunity to attend Amiya-Sagarika's wedding at Berhampore and reception at Rainda. Amiya has contributed a lot in whatever I have done in life. |
