  This is Rainda. My best friend Amiya (Gopal Mandal) came from this village... to Shibpur BECollege after topping first batch of Higher Secondary Examination in 1960, from all the students in Murshidabad District. Amiya got his engineering degrees with flying colours and served the state government to retire as a distinguished Chief Engineer of the PWD. Amiya is happily married to Sagarika and blessed with a son, Anirban, also an engineer from Shibpur with post graduate degree from USA. I had the opportunity to attend Amiya-Sagarika's wedding at Berhampore and reception at Rainda. Amiya has contributed a lot in whatever I have done in life.

  Amiya Mandal

  Thanks to ,Dr S.K.Sinha, my beloved friend & philosopher. Rainda village is one of the prosperous villages in the past. It has a very good play ground, a primary school, A secondary school,veterinary hospital, primary health centr, Panchayat Samity Office. My Father Sreepoti Bhusan Mandal was a legendary figure at his time. He is the first Matriculate, that too in first division with letter within five miles of radius. He devoted his life in teaching and practically established the primary school. He was versatile in cultural affairs ranging from Kirtan, Jatra gaan My elder brother Krishnath Mandal was also a teacher. He is the key man for my engineering educatiion. He was a very popular for his sweet behaviour.
