Gumtara Fort, in Bhiwndi taluka of Thane District, on a hill 1949 feet high, can be reached from the village of Dugaad. There are 2 ways to reach. One has to hike through either from Moili village or Pirachi Wadi to reach the fort. The fort top can be reached by a 2.5 Hrs steep hike through the forest. After 1.5 to 2 Hrs of climb, one reaches on a plateau and then another 30 to 40 minutes hike takes you to the top. The top has a group of 7 water cisterns but only 1 holds water which is not potable. One more water cistern is full of mud and trees. So carry enough water when visit. The fort has a fortification wall and the gomukhi style entrance between 2 bastions is in dilapidated condition. There is no shelter on top.
