Moana Pool has a range of swimming areas, a multitude of fitness facilities, lots of training courses and entertainments for children.
Situated in Littlebourne Road, it was built in the early 1960's on the site of the old Moana Tennis Club, hence the name. Costing approximately 450,000 pounds, the pool facilities were a replacement for the tepid pools, built in 1914 and situated in Lower Moray place, which were seen as being inadequate for the growing needs of Dunedin. Moana Pool was opened on the 14th of November 1964 and was of Olympic dimensions of 165ft by 58ft.
