The Nazrul Mancha, previously known as the Muktangan was the only open air theatre in Kolkata. Afterwards, it was provided with a tin roof over a steel frame during the 90’s. In 2014 it was renovated and enclosed by walls to provide AC and better sound system.
The birth of Dover Lane Music Conference at Nazrul Mancha dates back to 1952. It started as a gathering of a few music enthusiasts in the by lanes of South Calcutta and has now become a famous musical event in India.
