The University of Science and Technology is the first private education institution established in the DPRK with financial and institutional support from China, the US and the ROK. It was established Kim Chin Kyung, an American Korean economics professor who founded the Yanbian University of Science and Technology in the ethnic Korean Yanbian Autonomous Prefecture in north east China. The school will specialize in IT science, engineering, economics and international business study.
