Young George Washington was raised a Mason in this lodge at age 20. The lodge museum contains memorabilia relating to his membership, including the Bible used at his initiation ceremony in 1752, the minutes of his meetings at the lodge and an original portrait. Second only to the national Masonic Monument in Alexandria, this lodge contains the most relics of the first U.S. president's masonhood.
