Parkdale Mall is a priemier shopping center in Southeast Texas with 1,331,940 square feet of space. It is home to more than 150 stores ranging from Abercrombie & Fitch to Victoria's Secret. The mall had a recent (2005) multi-million dollar renovation to showcase the rich history of Beaumont by having the "Spindletop" theme prominently projected throughout the mall, from the attractive lighting to the color-coordinated ceiling accents. The Food Court also features state-of-the-art design featuring the history of Spindletop and a central-neon lighting in the middle of the court. Dilliards also merged its Mens and Womens department stores to produce a massive, new 2-story store due to Hurricane Rita which was completed in 2008. It now has more than 200,000 square feet of space. Recent openings include a new 40,000 square feet Bealls and a new 24,000 square feet XXI that opened in 2008. There are about 4 retail pad sites that are also being sold outside of the mall (near Macy's and Bealls) which may be future tenants for restaurants and a major retail store.
