The Long Breath (Belfast)Set of seven wooden sculptures carved by Belfast, Maine artist, Ron Cowan. The carvings are of human faces and are placed among some old piers and rocks in the harbor. At low tide you can walk out to the faces, but at high tide they are completely submerged, hence the name, "The Long Breath." The pieces were purchased by the City of Belfast and are currently maintained by Cowan, who routinely tacks seaweed onto the sculptures to act as floating hair.
Address: Heritage Park, Belfast
