i love my Temple and Ganapati its a verry old temple my grandpa.. used to say...
" A long years back one fine night gaitonde family member he is Ganesh Gaitonde found a dream he saw that god Ganapati came in his dream and said "go to Gundabala(a place about 20Km from Kasarkod) and one well is there u will find statu of ganapati he is first point of contect for nay of your problems" as soon as he woke up he discussed this with other family member & they went in search of the moorthy..

They search for long but not able to find the moorthy finally they thought they will not go back without moorthy and determined to stay there till they get moorthy " they said we are ready to die but not ready to go back without moorthy" And sudenly one cow boy came and asked them " U people are searching some thing ?" they said "yes" they explained the whole story. Than the cow boy said "ok, do one thing from here go strait u will find one tree under that tree one well is there but its full of small plants in that u may get it" As soon as they heard this they rushed to that place searched and they find ganapati moorthy they returned happylly and today we are worshiping

I visit here every year, this has been our gram dev, my grandfather Late. appa shanbhag stayed neraby 94 yrs.
