LORD RAMA SPENT MOST OF HIS EXILE (VANAVAAS) TIME NEAR THIS HILL (KAMAD GIRI) at Ramghat on the banks of Payaswini.WIFE SITA AND BELOVED BROTHER LAXMANA WERE WITH HIM. THEY MADE A HUT WITH GRASS AND LEAVES (CALLED PARNA KUTI) AND LIVED THERE AS VANVASI. THIS IS THE PLACE WHERE BROTHER BHARAT CAME TO MEET RAMA AND PRAY HIM TO RETURN AYODHYA BUT RAMA REFUSED IT . HE TOLD BHARAT THAT FOR HIM THE ORDER OF FATHER IS SUPREAME AND MONDATORY.
THE HILL CALLED KAMAD GIRI AS IT IS BELEIVED THAT WISHES (KAMNA) FULFILS AFTER SEEING THIS HILL SO IT IS KAMAD GIRI ( HILL WHICH FULLFILES ONES WISH).
