  • Wollongong is a very corrupt location. A previous mayor from the political party the Australian Labor Party (ALP) was Frank Arkell http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Arkell was murdered by Mark Valera who claimed Arkell was a peadophile. Valera's claim is generally accepted. The ALP has a long history of corruption in the area. Neville Hilton, while President of the local ALP Branch, was engaged in underage prostitution through, of all things his own whore house (good one comrade), for which he was convicted and imprisoned. In NSW, if you give small donations to the ALP you get very big returns, and the present (early 2008) ICAC hearings seem to suggest that $100,000 in donations returns at least a $20,000,000. Not bad hey?
