  opened in the late 1950s, when this park was WAY WAY out in the country..it is now surrounded by houses (unfortunately). There's a marina there..and they rent canoes and pedal boats. Swimming beach too and numerous picnic shelters. Walking trails too..some rather steep. Do watch out for Copperheads..they live there too. They also have an off leash Dog area. Each spring the lake is stocked with trout and thats a big deal. The lake is drained from time to time to remove silt, trash, etc. Patrolled by JOCO park police, and yes they carry guns so mind your manners! NO alcohol allowed. They have some nice paved walking trails also. I have been going to this park for over 30 years..must be a reason, eh?

  used to be a good place to go smoke pot..we even had a dead end street to park on so we could see the fuzz coming! By the late seventies they were arming the park cops and some of them even had legs.....taking your girlfriend up in the woods for some fun was quite popular also. ok so we also drank some beer there too.
