Broad Ripple High School graduates include Postmodern architect Michael Graves (1950), former Late Show host David Letterman (1965), and Marilyn (Tucker) Quayle (1969), former Second Lady of the U.S. (1989-1993).

The high school graduated its last class in 2018 and was closed by Indianapolis Public Schools as part of its continued cost-cutting plan for the district. It reopened as a middle school on August 1, 2024.
