High Wood was purchased by the Woodland Trust in 1985 with financial assistance from the Countryside Commission and North Kesteven District Council. The wood has a mature fringe of oak, ash and sycamore, the centre of the wood however was felled in 1983 and replanted by the Trust with a mixture of native tree and shrub species.
