Dobbins Air Reserve Base (IATA: MGE, ICAO: KMGE) was built using the airstrip from Rickenbacher Field, which predated WWII. The nearby Bell Bomber Factory, which made over 600 B-29's during WWII, was completed shortly after the Pearl Harbor attack in 1941. The factory was later converted to Martin Aircraft and then eventually the Lockheed Georgia Company, now Lockheed-Martin.
