Velnala - Devils cave (Sigulda)

It was formed approximately before 10 000 years. A gate into the cave is 8 m above the Gauja level. It is an old cult site with many ancient legends and tales related to the cave. Direct admittance to the cave was forbidden in 1980 due to sandstone rocks erosion. It is well seen from the opposite bank of the River Gauja. Height - 4,7 m, width - 7 m, depth - 40 m.
