Bulacao is a barangay of Talisay City. Bulacao got its name from the word "bucaco", the Visayan name for the highgrade variety of sorghum, "dawa" or "kabog". Most of these bucaco trees were raised by the original settlers of this barangay. It was the natives who adopted this name that when this place was transformed into a barrio, the name Bulacao was used. This happened in the early 19th Century. In 2002, Bulacao hand an estimated population on 9,125.
